Illustration and Art
'the goal isn't to live forever - it's to create something that will.'a blog dedicated to my illustration and art, serving as a progressive log and a portfolio. many drawings are a work in progress and will be updated as I work on them. I will also post/reblog artists that inspire me and my own work. All art posted here is mine unless otherwise stated.

azurelips asked: do you know how to get me out of this artists slump i'm in? i have so many ideas for sketches and drawings but every time i touch a pencil to a page the result is horrendous. i want to take art lessons but they aren't an option at the moment. do you have any advice?
immerse yourself in art that inspires you, whether on the internet or go to a show, just find something that really speaks to you. you can copy it or whatever, anything that gets you excited about putting pencil to paper. watch a beautifully made movie, listen to your favourite music and try to envision each line as a drawing, or just take a notebook around and draw your friends and the things you see. you don’t need art lessons to be learning all the time! also, try not to cling too tightly to the visions you have in your head - you might end up with something different on the paper, but it you stick at it it might end up better than you originally planned! just let the ideas grow by themselves. i get blocked a ridiculous amount, so i know how you feel. just give it some time and keep your mind open to the endless opportunities around you. i hope this helps a tiny bit :) there are also various sites that give you a theme to get you drawing, such as illustrationfriday.com, you could try drawing a topic and just see where you end up with it.
